Every founder I talk to right now is working hard.

Very hard.

Long days.
Constant problem solving.
Trying to move faster.
Trying to push growth.

And yet many still feel like they are running in place.

Not because they lack ideas.
Not because they lack intelligence.

But because their decision architecture is broken.

Most founders are operating inside a system that creates friction.

And friction quietly kills growth.

Not overnight.

But slowly.

The Hidden Bottleneck in Most Businesses

Founders often assume the problem is:

• marketing
• visibility
• hiring
• capital
• scaling systems

Sometimes those things matter.

But after studying businesses and working with founders for years, I see a much more common issue:

Decision friction.

Decision friction looks like this:

• overthinking simple choices
• delaying action while seeking perfect clarity
• constantly shifting priorities
• reacting instead of directing
• trying ten things instead of committing to one

When this happens, businesses feel chaotic.

Momentum disappears.

And founders assume the solution is working harder.

It rarely is.

Hard Truth

Growth rarely comes from doing more.

It comes from removing friction from how decisions are made.

The highest-performing founders I know do three things extremely well:

1. They Decide Faster

Not recklessly.

But decisively.

They understand something most founders miss:

Most decisions are reversible.

But hesitation compounds.

A slow decision today creates ten more decisions tomorrow.

2. They Reduce Cognitive Load

Average founders carry everything in their head.

High-performing founders create systems.

They simplify:

• priorities
• strategic direction
• how opportunities are evaluated
• how resources are deployed

When decisions become structured, leadership becomes easier.

3. They Focus on One Real Lever

Most founders spread effort across too many initiatives.

New offers.
New ideas.
New strategies.

But real growth almost always comes from one lever executed extremely well.

The challenge is identifying that lever.

And having the discipline to commit to it.

What I’m Seeing Right Now

Right now I’m noticing a very clear pattern among founders.

Many are:

• Overwhelmed with ideas
• Consuming constant information
• Trying to execute everything at once

Information overload has replaced clarity.

And ironically, more knowledge often leads to worse decisions.

Because the founder never commits.

The Question I Ask Founders

When someone feels stuck, I ask one question:

“What is the one decision you are avoiding right now?”

That question usually unlocks everything.

Because founders almost always know what the real issue is.

They’re just postponing it.

Something I’ve Been Sharing Recently

Over the past few weeks I started creating short videos where I break down common leadership patterns I see among founders.

Not theory.

Real decision patterns that either accelerate growth or quietly stall it.

One of them talks about impostor syndrome among founders, which is far more common than most people admit.

Another explores how founders accidentally create chaos in their own businesses through decision fatigue. Check it out here.

I’ll continue sharing more of these.

Final Thought

Most founders think their next breakthrough will come from:

• A new strategy
• A new hire
• A new marketing channel

Sometimes it does.

But more often it comes from something simpler.

A clearer way of thinking.

Because clarity creates momentum.

And momentum changes everything.

If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you.

What is the hardest leadership decision you're facing right now?

Stories of Rising

Over the next several months, I’ll also be introducing a series called Stories of Rising.

These will feature conversations with founders about the real work behind building something meaningful.

Not the highlight reel.

The real journey.

Because the truth is:

Most founders are navigating far more than people see.

And their stories deserve to be told.
